Episode 3: Low Quality Story Time With Jojo and Palopit

Episode 3

This week episode got messed up a little so I just had to do a quick 6 minute show with announcements. Enjoy!

-Last Bastion of Twlight trash farming went great! Twas two weeks ago, and we got the same item twice, forgot the name but was a casters staff type thingy. We had three people who could use it but the healer was kind of angry because i let everyone roll, so the second time it dropped i had master loot on and still i let other casters roll and the healer rolled a 99, but the other caster rolled a 100. so wah wah wahh
-we are going back into BOT again this saturday night, around the same time of 930 pm. Any level 85 is welcome to come with.
-that is with an average item level of 329 O.o we way make an exception if we have a quite a few higher geared players
-GRATS! To odinthor for his excellent technique to win the 2nd annual naked gnome scramble. It was an amazing race, the middle time taking about 1.5 hours. But odin did it in a astonishing 1 hour. Took a route through Wetlands and then north from onexias lair swamp area.

-double grats to odi who choose to split is prize with all the contestants. Gracias hombre!
-We are heading into AQ40 again, hopefully i john still has it saved We are almost on the last boss, just 1 away. May not get guild achev but personal achevs are in the bag!
4) achevs no bumper this weekn :(
-Grats to idontgetit with the achev of Professional Illustrious Grand Master for tailoring!
-Odinthor earned Earned the achievement Working Around the Clock for skinning and leatherworking
-Grats to NKX for Supreme Defender Kill 100 flag carriers in Warsong Gulch.

-Since we can’t see every ones amazing achievements if you get an achievement you are proud of, or if someone in the guild gets an achievement that you think should be recognized, please mail Palopit in game with the name of the person and achievement. You can also email the same information to blessedguildzuluhed@gmail.com

5) Mail Call! No bumper

”This Week In The Blessed”
* Switching focus from raiding to down bosses to farming trash, specifically in Bastion of Twlight. Don’t have the gear yet to have a real chance to down bosses, so we are switching focus over to farming in hopes that we’ll get more purple drops.
o Any level 85 may come with an average item level of 329.
o This last run we met the guild leader of Bladerunners, a guild that branched off our guild originally from Orionsrage and Freakazoid (or something like that) so we may be going in there with a few of them every week. Hopefully the start of a friendship between our two guilds, which would be fitting seeing as they originnally branched off of us.
o We are starting the raid up at 9:30 server time, waiting until 9:45 until we advertise in trade chat, after which point its first come first serve.
o DON’T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR GREAT GEAR!
* Naked Gnome Scramble
o This historic event that has lived in infamy from our guild’s past as our FIRST event has returned. In 1 week from the recording of this podcast.
o 500g grand prize
o Rules: 1) You must be on a level 1 gnome 2) Must be completely naked 3) the class does not matter. 4) You must start at the same time as everyone else, so no cheating!
+ To win you must be the first person to be killed by Hellscream.
+ Once the race starts you are in no way obligated to wait for anyone else, take the quickest route you think you can make to get to Ogrimar.
+ NO SUMMONING! Everyone will be in a group to avoid cheating like this.
o Don’t have any extra slots and don’t want to delete that useless toon you never play anymore? Well there are always trial accounts! 500g is on the line, its worth it if you need to make a trial account.
* This weeks Vanilla raid is AQ 40 man.
o Any Level 58+ can come
o Need 10 guildies to get the achievement and then we only need Blackwing lair for classic guild raider achieve
* Welcome to the Guild!

Raid March 5: Taking Out The Trash

Heyo! After a postponing the raiding for a few week it was decided that its time for us get back into action, but not straight into raiding. We instead where farming Bastion of Twilight trash this past Saturday night, something new to most of  us. While for some odd reason nothing dropped, which to those who have farmed before was a little surprising, we had fun and gained a lot of experience to get back in there next Saturday night and fly through it a few times. We also made some new friends who will hopefully join us again next week. We may not be taking down bosses yet but at least where in there doing something  :D . The gear requirement is technically 333, but we can bring along someone lower if the rest of the raid is geared higher. So don’t be afraid to log in Saturday night and join us!

“Casual RP Friday” Meeting January 18, 2011

So this week our meeting was spontaneously made into the first ever casual RP Friday, during which those who showed up for the meeting where asked to through on their best RP outfit, and we all took on rather flimsy characters, all of whom had an unnatural tendency to drink. We said we would make every Friday casual RP Friday, but looking at it I think 1 time a month is good enough :P .

THE BLESSED ON THE WEB

So with the website done I am moving on to some other projects, which hopefully will encourage members to come to the site and see whats up! Me and John have decided to go ahead with a guild podcast, since my original idea of turning meetings into a podcast isn’t working out so great, but we had some slight technical difficulties so for the moment there is no spoken equivalent to meetings. But do not fret, we will get it going soon enough.

THE WEEKLY RAIDER

Raiding has come to small halt for the time being, This week level 85 raid is still planned, but I have a feeling we will be postponing them from being planned on the calendar and I will spend my Saturdays on Sarahlee healing people through heroics, helping people with specs, and this sort of thing. We have a 5 man team, almost lined up and ready to go. Which may not sound like much, but we where kicking but in Shadowfang keep the other night so we are going to try to keep the momentum going, and help us carry on into raids in the coming months. I have not given up and raids, and I’m confident we’ll be efficient in them soon enough, we are a casual guild so I’m not worried. We’ll get in there when we are good and ready :P .

PvP News

Still the only PvP team I know about in the guild is Grrr Cats! And they have been doing fairly well. I am encouraging anyone who wants help starting a PvP team to ask and I will help you get set up with someone. We’ll help give a direction and what ever else we can do to get you kicking but.

“Why Are You Naked?” Meeting February 4, 2011

This week was our break week, so we had a quick meeting followed up by some fun in Black Temple. Really didn’t discuss to much other then my concerns on level 85 raiding, and try to see what we could do to organize a little more in an attempt to get more guildies into heroics and raids.

The Blessed On The Web

So as you all know by now, since your reading this post, we have our website up and running. Some new requirements for promotion have been created in order to help organize the guild around the website, which will help us organize events better, be able to get members hooked up with each other for PvP, raiding, and all that other stuff that requires a little but to a lot of outside co-ordination. SO! What are the new rules? We’ll, since its not our intention to make the website forced on everyone we have decided that if you wish to rank up within the guild then you must make an account on the here on the site. You must check in on the site every so often, and how active of a community member you are in the game and on the site will now go towards us considering people for promotions. Promotions will still be given out in chunks at a time, usually every so many months. Current people ranked knight or higher will not loose their rank but will not be allowed to rank up any higher then they currently are until they make their website account. For the moment it is not a requirement for the general guild population if you wish to simply be in the guild and participate as a member only. Any changes to the policy will be told at the weekly guild meeting, and be written in a blog post here out lining the policy change further. So make an account, help us organize the guild a little bit more so we can have healthy growth in the right direction this year :D !

The Weekly Raider

From what I can tell, people seem to be gearing up a relatively similar rate, so it seems for the moment that we’ll be having good chunks of guildies joining us in raids every week as time goes on. I guess gearing a healer is a lot faster :P . I am in no rush, we got plenty of time to get people geared and raiding. With the new min item level for guild raiding being 340, we’ll have a severe cut back amount of guildies attending raids initially, but it should return to normal and then exceed previous number eventually. This min item level is there so that we can make sure the people who are geared have a fair shot of being able to down bosses and complete raids. Once you have the min item level of 340 we welcome to you to come every Saturday night!

Since this was our break week we didn’t do an official guild raid, but instead had a few members head into Black Temple for some fun. All in all we wiped a lot but did manage to down a few bosses with our rag-tag crew of 3 level 85s a 3 level 70-73s. The week’s meeting name comes from a humorous quote from the evening, which had us all laughing hysterically.  What the quote is I won’t say now. Perhaps we can get John to get us the screen shot, but you can ask anyone there, its just not something I’d write in a blog post :P .

Blackwing Descent Week 1: Really Hard Trash

This Saturday we had the pleasure of finally getting a full raid together with pugs and few guildies to journey into BWD. To be honest we where under-geared, unprepared, and overly optimistic (at least as I was :D ). We Entered the dungeon and walked up the short stairwell leading to Magmaw, a hunter forgot his pet was on aggressive so things picked up pretty fast. After a quick wipe and a few laughs we got back up and killed the first trash add. The mechanics on this add where fairly simple but it was a tough fight non-the-less. After killing the Drakonid Chainwielder, we moved on the two Drakonid Drudges who proved a bigger challenge then I’d like to think. This is where our journey ended this week. Fighting two adds who had to be killed simultaneously and kept switching bosses killing anyone in the way of their path doing AOE damage to all the people in mele range. We almost got it had it not been that I lost the main tank when these guys where about half way dead. We had all agreed on one more wipe and that was it.

Though it sounds rough it was actually a lot of fun, and I encourage all level 85s to attend if you feel you got the gear (even if you don’t I wont stop ya). I’ll keep going back cause this trash can’t hold us back forever! I have no doubt next week we’ll actually get to wipe on the boss. Oh! We did wipe on the boss twice, one time we got too close to the boss while fighting the trash and the other time involved an unfortunate  targeting glitch and misdirect, we’ll leave it at that for now.

“35000 Critter to Go!” Meeting January 29, 2011

“35000 Critter to Go!”

Maybe not the most exciting news this week, but its true. We have almost hit the 15000 mark for the Critter Kill Squad guild achievement. In truth its not that big of a deal since after CKS comes Crittergedon (or however you spell it). But non-the-less, it means we are getting closer to finishing this stupid achievement :P .

PvP News

This week was perhaps the biggest week in guild PvP since we completed the Horde Slayer achievement. This week I had the pleasure of doing 2V2 arena matches with our most beloved second in the guild John (has a weird thingy on the o). Unknowingly we got the guild achievement for winning an arena match in a guild arena team. A guild arena team is just a team comprised of guild members. I have a good feeling it contributes to guild exp as well, so perhaps this is our way to help level up the guild a wee bit more. THUS! I encourage all level 85s, even lower levels at 70 or 80 if you want, to create arena teams with other guild members. 2V2 being the fastest to get going since its just you and another guy. If we get enough 2v2 teams going we can organize 3v3 and 5v5 through the guild and even get an organized rated battleground team going. I am convinced that 2v2 teams for the time being are our gateway into more PvP for the guild. Also, once we get another 2v2 team well head on down to one of the world arenas and do some sparring, hold some brackets and stuff like that. Will be fun :D .

The Weekly Raider

Last weeks raid was a bust, this weeks raid hopefully a little better. Raiding has been tough to get going but well get it up soon enough. Next week if not this week, and the next week after that if not that week :D . Blackwing Descent is our desired raid to get going first, so look forward to it. Read up on it, and get ready to wipe the floor!

Vanilla raiding has been going well. We got AQ Ruins this week. So great job. AQ 40 and BWL are the only two left for guild classic raider achievement. So keep coming every week!
